Marines
Overview
The Marine system lets players enlist in the World Government's naval force. Marines operate as an enforcement faction against pirates - arresting criminals, protecting civilians, and participating in Marine Warship sea events. Joining the Marines is a character identity choice that changes your faction alignment, reputation trajectory, and which sea events you engage with.
⚓Enlisting
Players can enlist as Marines through a character progression choice. Marine status aligns you with the World Government, unlocks Marine-specific activities and arrest mechanics, and marks you as a target for high-bounty pirate players.
🏅Rank Progression
⚖️Enforcement Mechanics
Arrests
Marines can arrest criminal players, placing them into the Jail system. The arresting Marine earns rewards proportional to the criminal's bounty level.
→ Jail SystemHandcuffs
Handcuffs are a Marine tool used to restrain arrested players. Breaking free while handcuffed is approximately 20× harder than normal jail escape - confirmed by developers.
Patrols
Marines patrol sea lanes and port towns. Their presence deters pirate activity in lower sea regions and triggers reputation-based responses from faction NPCs.
